Madrid Food 2020 – Onde Comer
2020 já todos sabemos que tem sido um ano diferente, complicado principalmente para a descoberta de novos restaurantes e para repetir os favoritos. Ainda assim arrancou a descobrir novos lugares (para nós) onde comer em Madrid receitas de outros lugares, descobrimos a comida chinesa, as pizzas feitas pelas mãos de um argentino, os lobster roll, etc.. Que saudades de voltar a esses tempo, sem medo e sem restricções de comer o mundo sem sair de Madrid.
2020 we all know that it has been a different year, complicated mainly for the discovery of new restaurants and to repeat the favorites. Even so, he started to discover new places (for us) where to eat in Madrid, recipes from other places, we discovered Chinese food, pizzas made by the hands of an Argentine cook, lobster rolls, etc … I miss going back to those times, without fear and without restrictions of eating the world without leaving Madrid.

Perhaps – Cáceres, Espanha
O Perhaps pode não ter o nome mais tradicional que se encontra na Extremadura mas é um bom restaurante, com uma decoração descontraída e uma carta que têm os pratos mais típicos da Extremadura com outros de toque mais moderno. Gostámos do ambiente e do atendimento, foram sempre muito simpáticos algo que sempre valorizamos quando viajamos com os miudos. Pedimos tapas para partilhar algumas das mais tradicionais como as “croquetas” e os “huevos rotos” mas algumas que parecem fazer parte das cartas locais como o porco com molho de torta de casar.
Perhaps may not have the most traditional name found in Extremadura but it is a good restaurant, with a relaxed decor and a menu that has the most typical dishes from Extremadura with others with a more modern touch. We liked the atmosphere and the service, they were always very friendly, something we always value when we travel with the kids. We ordered tapas to share some of the more traditional ones, such as “croquetas” and “huevos rotos”, but some that seem to be part of the local cards, such as pork with marinated pie sauce.

Pela Ciutadella encontramos muitos restaurantes e uma boa parte servem pizzas, enquanto lá estivémos comemos num par de pizzarias todas realmente boas. Uma delas foi a Pizzaria Roma do mesmo grupo do Café Balear que fica numa estreita rua mesmo no centro. Conseguimos mesa fora numa noite excelente e provámos a suas deliciosas pizzas.
Through Ciutadella we find many restaurants and a good part serve pizzas, while we were there we ate at a couple of pizzerias all really good. One of them was Pizzeria Roma from the same group as Café Balear, which is on a narrow street right in the center. We managed to have a table outside on a great night and tasted their delicious pizzas.

Em Menorca podemos encontrar vários tipos de praia, depende se estás a Norte ou a Sul, se o acesso é mais fácil ou não. A Galdana por exemplo tem excelentes acessos, vários hotéis perto e boas codições para por exemplo quem tem crianças. Aqui não há longas caminhadas em pinhais para chegar, há um paredão pavimentado e é só escolher o sitio onde ficar. Conta ainda com serviços de apoio e bares onde podemos comer algo rápido. É também perto de esta praia que está o acesso ás famosas Macarella e Macareletta.
In Menorca we can find several types of beach, depending on whether you are in the North or the South, whether access is easier or not. Galdana for example has excellent access, several hotels nearby and good codes for those who have children. There are no long walks in pine woods to get there, there is a paved wall and you just have to choose the place to stay. It also has support services and bars where we can eat something fast. It is also close to this beach that is the access to the famous Macarella and Macareletta.

Já conhecíamos o Cantinho do Avillez em Lisboa (post aqui) e descobrimos que havia uma “sucursal” em Cascais, foi uma escolha óbvia para um jantar a dois e igualmente segura. A sua carta tinha alguns dos pratos que conhecemos quando estivémos em 2015 em Lisboa, a decoração sim que era diferente ao que nos lembrávamos, a outra tinha um aspecto de taberna mais tradicional esta parecia mais modernal, igualmente acolhedora. E vieram as memórias de quando ali comíamos no Lucullus.
We already knew Cantinho do Avillez in Lisbon (post here) and we found out that there was a “branch” in Cascais, it was an obvious choice for a dinner for two and equally safe. Your menu had some of the dishes we know when we were in 2015 in Lisbon, the decor was different from what we remembered, the other had a more traditional tavern look, this one seemed more modern, also welcoming. And the memories came from when we ate there at Lucullus.

Dentro do Parc de Montjüic podemos encontrar vários jardins, o Laribal é um deles e o único que visitámos para além do Joan Maragall. Fomos surpreendidos pela variedade de espaços que tinha como um roseiral que por ser Verão não tinha flor, várias estátuas e fontes decorativas. O seu nome vem do dono do terreno onde está instalado grande parte do terreno, Josep Laribal e o jardim terminou a 1922 muito antes da Exposição Internacional de Barcelona de 1929.
Within the Parc de Montjüic we can find several gardens, Laribal is one of them and the only one we visited besides Joan Maragall. We were surprised by the variety of spaces that it had as a rose garden that, as it was summer, had no flower, several statues and decorative fountains. Its name comes from the owner of the land where most of the land is installed, Josep Laribal and the garden ended in 1922 long before the International Exhibition in Barcelona in 1929.

Siguenza é uma joia da história medieval conhecida como a terra do El Doncel (um soldado que morreu na guerra da Reconquista em Granada). Para além do seu Castelo do século XII que está hoje convertido num Parador (Pousada), a Catedral de Santa Maria é um dos seus principais atractivos. Por estar perto de Madrid já a visitámos duas vezes e voltaremos alguma mais.
Siguenza is a jewel of medieval history known as the land of El Doncel (a soldier who died in the War of the Reconquista in Granada). In addition to its 12th century Castle, which is now converted into a Parador (Pousada), the Cathedral of Santa Maria is one of its main attractions. Being close to Madrid we have already visited it twice and will return some more.

Foi uma das cidades que fazia parte da nossa road trip pelo Norte de Espanha e por França (link Road Trip Espanha & França) e parámos para dormir antes de seguir caminho até Santander. É a capital do País Basco Francês e fica entre dois rios, o Nive e o Andour. Percorremos as ruas do centro tranquilamente fotografando as suas coloridas portadas, vimos a sua Catedral e passeámos nas margens do rio. Pode-se ver num dia e valeu a pena a paragem.
It was one of the cities that was part of our road trip through Northern Spain and France (link Road Trip Spain & France) and we stopped to sleep before heading to Santander. It is the capital of the French Basque Country and lies between two rivers, the Nive and the Andour. We walked the streets of the center quietly photographing its colorful shutters, saw its Cathedral and strolled along the banks of the river. You can see it in one day and it was worth the stop.

Dentro da Comunidade de Madrid há vários “pueblos” de interesse histórico que ficam a uma hora, Buitrago de Lozoya é um deles. A sua muralha medieval que faz caminho junto ao rio Lozoya e a sua igreja são os principais pontos a visitar. É verdade que a achei um pouco “abandonada”, antes de ir li que estavam investidos em recuperá-la e onde mais se nota a degradação é na parte inferior do Castelo.
Within the Community of Madrid there are several “pueblos” of historical interest that are within an hour, Buitrago de Lozoya is one of them. Its medieval wall that runs along the Lozoya River and its church are the main points to visit. It is true that I found it a little “abandoned”, before going I read that they were invested in recovering it and where the degradation is most noticeable is at the bottom of the Castle.

Esta é uma road trip pensada nas cidades onde podemos encontrar uma grande parte do património histórico e cultural de Portugal. Lisboa e Porto são sempre as principais, Braga, Évora e Sintra já começaram a ter muitos fãs mas é igualmente interessante por dar a conhecer o Mosteiro da Batalha, o Convento de Cristo em Tomar ou berço da nação em Guimarães.
This is a road trip designed in cities where we can find a large part of Portugal’s historical and cultural heritage. Lisbon and Porto are always the main ones, Braga, Évora and Sintra have already started to have a lot of fans but it is equally interesting for making known the Batalha Monastery, the Convent of Tomar or the birthplace of the nation in Guimarães.

1. Lisboa
A viagem arranca na capital, dois dias são o tempo suficiente para conhecer a sua essência, passear pelas suas ruas admirando a sua arquitetura, visitar o Castelo de S. Jorge e apreciar a vista que tem sobre a cidade. Nestes dois dias é obrigatório sacar partido da grande oferta foodie da cidade para todos os gostos e carteiras, por exemplo do Chef José Avillez a oferta é mais que variada, desde o Belcanto, passando pelo Minibar e acabando no Bairro do Avillez.
The trip starts in the capital, two days is enough time to get to know its essence, stroll through its streets admiring its architecture, visit the Castle of S. Jorge and enjoy the view it has over the city. In these two days it is mandatory to take advantage of the great foodie offer of the city for all tastes and wallets, for example from Chef José Avillez the offer is more than varied, from Belcanto, passing through the Minibar and ending up in the Bairro do Avillez.
